Kyra Rice, Parker Creek

With water flow through geologic time and ancient water lines being the focus of this trip, I began my search for understanding these concepts by using my string to demonstrate the flow of water in a stream.

By attaching the string to multiple points along the 4 x 4 and the fallen tree which were found in place, flow lines were made explicit by the pull of the water along the length of the strings.

Those lines were reflected on the land with white chalk lines drawn on the ground where water flow lines may exist during the wet season. The chalk lines also referenced fault lines that have influenced the flow of the water over geologic time. The string was removed before we left the Parker Creek site.
