trona pinnacles at searles lake The Trona Pinnacles was our fourth site. They are located at the southwestern edge of the Searles Lake Basin. The pinnacles are made mostly of a form of calcium carbonate called tuffa. The tuffa towers are as high as 120 feet, and clusters of them reach as far as 500 feet in length. |
